The one positive outcome after closing my retail locations was gaining some free time to help others. When you are decompressing after spending your whole adult life running a bustling retail business there is a lot of time to reflect on what could have been done differently, what I should of made time for and never did. As many people know, retail takes up a lot of time. Taking the time to figure out what my next steps would be I immediately decided to spend my time volunteering. It started with my local school district nutrition team and vastly moved forward from there. I have done everything from heading up meetings and fundraisers, shopping events, fashion shows, built websites, marketing plans, social media platforms etc to help raise money for either those in need or just a great cause. Now, with almost everything I do I associate and combine working with an organization I am passionate about. Mixing fashion, design and business, and my deep caring philosophy with philanthropy. It is all about staying connected, staying aware and adding value and love to everything I do.
